Description

Mondraker Foxy Carbon RR

Introducing the NEW 2015 Foxy Carbon

The new Foxy Carbon is at the cutting edge of design backed up by award winning trail performance. THE BIKE is the mountain bike of the future.

This year the Foxy celebrated its 10th birthday with a new frame design, larger wheels, improved suspension kinematics and Forward Geometry introduced across the range. This new Foxy went on to be awarded the What Mountain Bike ‘Trail Bike of the Year’ award beating all challengers to the top spot and taking home the prestigious award validating its trail bike performance in the process. Little did people know that behind the scenes Mondraker were working on something rather special to further propel the Foxy ahead of the gaggle of other trail bikes on the market in terms of style, looks and performance. It may have taken them three long years to perfect but Mondraker’s most ambitious project to date was worth the wait. With a carbon heart and a devilishly good ride the new 2015 Foxy carbon is a 140mm celebratory birthday cake every rider will want a slice of.

The Frame

Manufactured using Mondraker’s own Stealth Carbon the Foxy C draws on advanced elements of industrial design and stunning aesthetic shapes to produce a lightweight, strong, trail ready frame which out performs the competition. An oversized front triangle is painstakingly manufactured for optimal stiffness and rigidity with a low top tube stand over and tapered head tube. A monoblock one-piece aluminium linkage keeps everything stiff while out back a 142x12mm thru axle further improves tracking performance. Thousands of hours have been spent on developing the heart of the Zero Suspension System of the Foxy C to meet the stiffness figures demanded by Mondraker and maintain the high performance needed to win ‘Trail Bike of the Year’. A carbon cradle houses the rear shock as well as a, PF92 BB, removable D-type front derailleur mount, ISCG 05 tabs, rear shock guard and internal ‘stealth’ dropper post routing.

140mm of Zero Suspension System

Zero is the name of the virtual pivot point suspension system developed and patented by Mondraker, consisting of two links that compress and control the movement of the rear shock on both sides creating a floating motion giving life to this unique suspension system that offers superior performance. Following the revision received by the aluminium Foxy, the 2015 Foxy Carbon features a new kinematic configuration adjusted for a 1 x set-up.

Forward Geometry – EVO FG30

The concept behind Forward Geometry sees the top tube length grow and the stem length decrease all while maintaining the position of the bikes seat and handlebar position. In fact, if you were to put a Forward Geometry bike like the 2013 Foxy XR next to the 2013 Foxy RR you will see that bar the longer travel fork, the position of the bikes controls remains the same. These adjustments to the bikes geometry make the Forward Geometry great going up and even better coming down. The advantages when compared with traditional geometry give the rider better control, handling and confidence. As well as,

road-bike-build-process

Safety Notes.

Ensure the stem clamp bolts and handle bar clamp bolts are correctly tightened. An uneven handle bar clamp plate may cause damage to the handle bars.

  • When a bike is carbon or fitted with carbon parts a torque wrench should be used.
  • When tightening the seat post clamp on a carbon bike a torque wrench should be used.

Identify the left and right pedals.

Do not confuse the left and right pedals – they are different.

The right pedal is fitted to the drive side (the side with the chain and gears). Both pedals will be clearly marked which side they are for. They are often stamped l or r at the end of the axle.

Do not force your pedals on! Always finger tighten first. Attempting to fit a pedal to the incorrect crank arm will void your warranty.

Before your first ride your new bike run through the gears to ensure they work correctly before you apply any force to the drive system.

If any miss or over shifting is experienced they will need checking by a qualified person as they may have been knock in transit.
