Product Description

CANNONDALE BAD HABIT: BAD HABITS ARE THE MOST FUN

THE GEOMETRY MAY BE RELAXED, BUT THERE’S NOTHING SLACK ABOUT THE BAD HABIT, A 27+ BIKE SO PERFECTLY EQUIPPED FOR MODERN TRAIL RIDING THAT IT MAY JUST BECOME AN ADDICTION. CONSIDER THIS FAIR WARNING.

The new range includes a carbon-alloy platform for the first time, uniting a front triangle fashioned from Cannondale’s high-performance BallisTec composite with a similarly high-tech SmartForm C1 alloy swing arm – two very different materials united by proprietary technologies (and a skilfully formed carbon linkage).

Bad Habit is designed around OutFront geometry, Cannondale’s rewriting of conventional geometric wisdom. The result? Steering that is simultaneously relaxed and accurate; calm, but pinpoint.

Add Ai to the equation. Asymmetric Integration, another Cannondale innovation, shifts the drivetrain 6mm to the right to reclaim valuable real estate in the rear triangle – essential to accommodate 3.0 tyres – while bringing the rear wheel closer to the seat-tube for unrivalled traction.

Big must also be strong, and Ai’s zero-dish, symmetrical lacing in the rear wheel, achieved with even spoke lengths and tension, gives much-needed stiffness to 27+. Add a wide 148×12 rear hub to the mix and the result is strength enough to withstand the forces of the most technical trail.

Those same forces place an unrelenting demand on the fork, but the single-sided Lefty fitted onto Carbon 1 and Alloy1 is equal to the task. Lefty and its class-leading stiffness is seemingly purpose-built for the new 27+ standard.

Some bad habits don’t need correcting. This is one. Packed with technology, from Cannondale Si chainsets to flex-free, low maintenance zero-pivot rear stays, the new Bad Habit is one to pick up immediately.

2017 BAD HABIT:

With Habit’s great handling and the huge grip and roll-over-anything float of 27+ tyres, Bad Habit is the ultimate technical trail machine.

KEY BAD HABIT FEATURES:

» BRING ON THE CARBON

New for 2017, we’ve added two Carbon models to the Bad Habit family. Featuring lightweight BallisTec carbon main frames, SmartForm C1 swingarms and a sweet, super light carbon link, Bad Habits never looked so good.

» SHORT STAYS, SWEET PERFORMANCE.

Super short chainstays for awesomely nimble handling, and tons of clearance for full 3.0 tyres, thanks to our Ai offset drivetrain.

» STIFFER, STRONGER REAR WHEEL

Wide 148×12 rear hubs with Ai symmetrical spoke angles and tension, give Bad Habit the stiffest, strongest rear wheels going.

» SWEET STEERING

OutFront Steering Geometry is perfect for 27+. Slack stability lets you hang it out on the descents, while the Lefty’s long fork offset keeps the steering quick and light at slow speeds.

» FORKIN STIFF

The unreal traction of 27+ tyres puts unreal forces on your fork. Nothing stands up to it like Lefty. Precise steering, flex-free handling and smooth suspension even under the most brutal loads.

KEY TECHNOLOGIES:

BallisTec Carbon Construction, SmartForm C1 Alloy, Ai Offset Drivetrain, OutFront Steering Geometry, LockR Pivots, Zero-Pivot Stays, Cannondale System Integrated Cranksets, Flat mount rear brake.

RIDER PROFILE

Anyone looking for max trail fun, from skilled riders looking to get rowdy on technical terrain to new riders looking for the most forgiving, confidence inspiring bike out there.

Assembly required by you.

You will be required to straighten the stem, fit the handle bars, front wheel and pedals.

road-bike-build-process

Safety Notes.

Ensure the stem clamp bolts and handle bar clamp bolts are correctly tightened. An uneven handle bar clamp plate may cause damage to the handle bars.

  • When a bike is carbon or fitted with carbon parts a torque wrench should be used.
  • When tightening the seat post clamp on a carbon bike a torque wrench should be used.

Identify the left and right pedals.

Do not confuse the left and right pedals – they are different.

The right pedal is fitted to the drive side (the side with the chain and gears). Both pedals will be clearly marked which side they are for. They are often stamped l or r at the end of the axle.

Do not force your pedals on! Always finger tighten first. Attempting to fit a pedal to the incorrect crank arm will void your warranty.

Before your first ride your new bike run through the gears to ensure they work correctly before you apply any force to the drive system.

If any miss or over shifting is experienced they will need checking by a qualified person as they may have been knock in transit.

 Warning!

Your bicycle must be properly assembled and checked before riding.

  • High peak cycles accept no responsibility for injury or damage due to faulty assembly.
